Hi again! Sorry we haven’t blogged in a while, it is sometimes difficult to get three sisters in the same place. With work, school, art, husbands, boyfriends and Guiliona, we all have our hands full. But it is so very important to make the time for each other and create. Anyway, here is a fun little recipe that we all enjoy. We made a bunch of yummy batches for Christmas last year and received rave reviews. Enjoy!
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Lightly whisk egg white then add 1 teaspoon of cold water and continue whisking until frothy. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the whisked egg. (the eggs we use in all of our recipes are organic cage free and use local if you can!)
Add the nuts and mix until well coated. Stir in both sugars, cinnamon, and salt until evenly coated.
Spread the nuts on an ungreased cookie sheet and roast for 20 to 30 minutes. You know when you are at the public market on a Saturday morning and you smell that sweet scent in the air? That is what your kitchen will smell like, sweet, cinnamony almonds. yum. Keep an eye on them because they can burn easily. The nuts will seem a bit sticky when they are ready to be taken out of the oven. Spread on wax paper to cool.

A few months ago the three of us sisters came together to discuss a common goal. A tribute to our wonderful grandmother, Mimi, the life of the party.
