hello, cinnamon vanilla almonds.

Hi again!  Sorry we haven’t blogged in a while, it is sometimes difficult to get three sisters in the same place.  With work, school, art, husbands, boyfriends and Guiliona, we all have our hands full.  But it is so very important to make the time for each other and create.  Anyway, here is a fun little recipe that we all enjoy.  We made a bunch of yummy batches for Christmas last year and received rave reviews.  Enjoy!

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.  Lightly whisk egg white then add 1 teaspoon of cold water and continue whisking until frothy.  Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the whisked egg.  (the eggs we use in all of our recipes are organic cage free and use local if you can!)

Add the nuts and mix until well coated.  Stir in both sugars, cinnamon, and salt until evenly coated.

Spread the nuts on an ungreased cookie sheet and roast for 20 to 30 minutes.  You know when you are at the public market on a Saturday morning and you smell that sweet scent in the air?  That is what your kitchen will smell like, sweet, cinnamony almonds.  yum. Keep an eye on them because they can burn easily.  The nuts will seem a bit sticky when they are ready to be taken out of the oven.  Spread on wax paper to cool.

Wrap up pretty to give as a gift or eat as a snack!  xoxo

p.s. along with organic cage free eggs, we use as much organic and local produce as we can and encourage you to do so as well.

This is a very lovely blog. Jennie is such a pretty model. I love the photographs and was hoping to see more of both recipes and pics:) If you take special requests?, I would love to be able to see your process for homemade pie crust. I have tried it only once and it didn’t turn out well. For some reason, I am totally intimidated by the entire process. I’ll definitely be checking in periodically to see what’s new.

    • Hi Analisa! Thank you for following our blog!! We will be posting a yummy savory pie crust soon, so keep an eye out for that. But if you are looking for something a little sweeter we have a desert pie recipe in the works that will be posted sometime down the road, once we get it just right. xoxo, the sisters.
